AECC Aberdeen Information

Getting There

The AECC is only a ten-minute taxi ride from Aberdeen railway and bus stations in the city centre
Aberdeen International Airport has a busy schedule of flights to over 20 destinations across the UK.

There are regular rail services between Aberdeen and Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and London – and many points in between.

Similarly, there are national bus services linking Aberdeen to major cities throughout the UK.

Ferry services operate between the city and the Orkney and Shetland Islands.

By Car

AECC sits right next to the A90 trunk road so getting here by car from the city centre or further afield is a simple option.

There are extensive and spacious facilities to park here at the AECC.
Following car parking charges are in place:
9:30am-6pm = £5 per car
6pm-1:30am = £5 per car

Parking for the whole day cannot be paid in one £10 instalment. It will need to be paid in two £5 instalments from when you arrive and then again after 6pm.

Accessibility

The main conference building is equipped with automatic doors and the Arena's entrances have wide main entry doors. All of the halls are at ground level, with upper level spaces being accessed via lifts.

• Parking
There are designated parking spaces near the venue for use by blue badge holders. If you use one of these spaces, please remember to display your badge in your vehicle.

• Elevators
There are lifts and also wheelchair lifts are available at the Fleming Auditorium.

• Induction loops
There is a permanent induction loop for the hard of hearing in our Forbes Suite; portable induction loops are available for some other areas. The Main Reception Conference Entrance also has a permanent induction loop system.
Please allow 48 hours notice for installation of the portable hearing loop. Call on 01224 824824 to arrange this prior to your visit. If attending a seated concert or event it may not be possible to accommodate the request depending on where you are seated.

• Toilets
There are wheelchair accessible and disabled toilets throughout the venue.

• Concerts/shows
The project Attitude is Everything was set up to improve deaf and disabled people's access to live music by working in partnership with audiences, artists and the music industry to implement a UK-wide Charter of Best Practice.
AECC supports, and has joined, the Charter of Best Practice, and is working towards a chartered award.

• Wheelchair platform/seating areas
There are designated areas for disabled people and wheelchair users at all live concerts and shows. At seated shows this is in the front row of the Arena and for standing shows the viewing platform is at the rear of the Arena, next to the mixer desk.

The Venue

It was in 2013 when Aberdeen City Council announced that a new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) would be built to ensure the city continues to attract large and popular events and secures a bigger share of the conference, exhibition and concert market. AECC is an essential part of the city's infrastructure and brings £50m into the local economy each year.

The new state-of-the art venue includes a 12,500 capacity arena with a moveable stage, 20 hospitality boxes and club lounge, 48,500m2 of flexible exhibition space and the site itself will include three hotels and its very own energy centre.
