Apologia

Apologia comes to the stage of the Trafalgar Studio One this summer, and brings with it Hollywood and Broadway star Stockard Channing, in a new production of Olivier Award winning drama Apologia, directed by multi-award winning Jamie Lloyd.

Alexi Kaye Campbell’s play is a drama reflecting the importance of family and the outside pressures that can be placed upon it. Other successes from Alexi Kaye Campbell include The Pride, Sunset at The Villa Thalia and The Faith Machine. Previous successes of Jamie Lloyd’s at Trafalgar Studio One include The Ruling Class and Machbeth (with James McAvoy) and Richard III (with Martin Freeman).

In a cottage in the English countryside, resides Kristin Miller. She has recently published her memoirs and cracks in the family relationships raise to the surface at birthday celebrations. Eventually, Kristin wonders whether her achievements have been worth the sacrifice.

What can we say about Stockard Channing that has not already been said. Her immensely popular film and TV credits include starring roles in The West Wing, The Good Wife, her Oscar® and Golden Globe nominated role in Six Degrees of Separation, and the iconic role of Rizzo in the film Grease. She is also a celebrated and acclaimed Broadway and West End star, with the most most recent performances on Broadway, It’s Only a Play and Other Desert Cities (a “peerless” performance – NY Times, for which she was nominated for her seventh Tony Award), affirming her position as a true theatrical legend.

Apologia tickets are now on sale from 29th July to 18th November, with prices from £45.00.
