We understand that in the Autumn of 2017 Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein will arrive on the London stage after a short run from 26th August to 9th September at the Newcastle Theatre Royal.

Brooks will be collaborating with Susan Stroman to bring this all-singing, all-dancing production based on the 1974 film which was received an Oscar nomination. Obviously the story is that of Mary Shelley’s classic book Frankenstein and tells the tale of Frederick Frankenstein, Victor von Frankenstein, Transylvania, reanimating the dead, and falling in love with Inga!

This musical extravaganza was previously on the Broadway stage with Roger Bart, Megan Mullally, Christopher Fitzgerald, Sutton Foster, Andrea Martin, Shuler Hensley and Fred Applegate; and after 484 regular performances, closed in late 2007.

The creative team and casting for the new production has not yet been announced. We will bring more news as we have it.
