This Cole Porter comedy classic is coming to London, for the very first time. This award-winning production is by Opera North and comes to the stage of the London Coliseum for a very limited run between the 20th and 30th June 2018, following a short run in Leeds at the Leeds Grand Theatre. Kiss Me, Kate brings together performers from both opera and the West End, with orchestral and Opera North’s sound of Broadway. The music is jazzy with hits such as “Another Op’nin”; “Brush Up Your Shakespeare”; and “Too Darn Hot”. The show is a mixture of the wit of Shakespeare with the celebration of the joy and madness of working in the theatre; set on the opening night of a musical version of The Taming of the Shrew in the 1940s. Follow the love-life of Fred Graham and his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi as their paths set to collide.
