We are now on sale with Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf? tickets.  Imelda Staunton, as Martha, and Conleth Hill, as George, star in this new production at the Harold Pinter Theatre, from 22nd February 2017.

This play is written by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Edward Albee and will be directed by James Macdonald.

Imelda Staunton is a British actress who has been nominated for a total of 11 Olivier Awards, winning 3 for Best Actress in a Musical, and 1 for Best Supporting Performance. She has starred in numerous stage productions including Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd, Gypsy and Guys and Dolls. Staunton is also a film star and TV star as well, starring in Nanny McPhee, Up The Garden Path and Is It Legal?

Conleth Hill is a multi-nominated and multi-award winning Northern Irish actor who has appeared on stage, in film and on TV in a variety of productions, including Macbeth on the stage, Keith Lemon: The Film and TV series Game of Thrones. 

The basic plot goes as follows:-

“In the early hours of the morning on the campus of an American college, Martha, much to her husband George’s displeasure, has invited the new professor Nick and his wife Honey to their home for some after-party drinks. As the alcohol flows and dawn approaches, the young couple are drawn into George and Martha’s toxic games until the evening reaches its climax in a moment of devastating truth-telling.”

Imelda Staunton returns to the West End after her Olivier Award-winning performances as Mama Rose in Gypsy and Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd. Her many theatre and film credits include Edward Albee’s A Delicate Balance at the Almeida Theatre, her Bafta Award-winning performance in the title role for Vera Drake, and as Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter films.
