One of the new shows that went on sale last week is the new musical comedy, Young Frankenstein. Obviously, the film was brought to us by the legend that is Mel Brooks, and he brings this classic, all-singing, all-dancing, monster comedy to the stage, with Tony-Award winning director & choreographer Susan Stroman heading up the creative team, which will also include set/costume design by Beowulf Boritt and William Ivey Long; lighting design by Ben Cracknell; sound design by Gareth Owen and musical supervision from Andrew Hilton and Glen Kelly.
Following in the footsteps of his Grandfather – Victor Frankenstein – Dr Frederick Frankenstein inherits a castle in Transylvania. From there he proceeds to fulfil his grandfather’s legacy and brings back to life a corpse. His “assistance” comes in the form of hunchback henchman Igor, buxom assistant Inga and needy fiancée Elizabeth. You can only imagine the monstrous goings on that occur in the laboratory as the experiments continue!
We have Young Frankenstein tickets on sale from the 28th September through to 10th February 2018, as previews start on 28th September at the Garrick Theatre in London’s West End.
