We are fortunate to be able to bring you 8 – yes, eight – new shows at the Royal Opera House between December 2016 and March 2017.
Starting with operatic comedy from Richard Strauss, Andris Nelsons will conduct Renée Fleming, Alice Coote and Rachel Willis-Sørensen in a new production of Der Rosenkavalier.
The Royal Ballet brings this production of the endless favourite, The Sleeping Beauty, which was first performed in 2006. Fairy godmother, princesses and magic bring this eternal fairytale to life on the stage.
Written on Skin, the story about the commissioning of the creation of an illuminated book, comes to the Royal Opera House stage between 13th and 30th January 2017.
The very well known opera, La Traviata is led by Joyce El-Khoury, Ekaterina Bakanova and Corinne Winters bringing Richard Eyre’s production of the Verdi classic opera to the London stage.
Woolf Works, Wayne McGregor’s critically acclaimed ballet triptych is brought to the stage with music by Max Richter and stars Alessandra Ferri and Mara Galeazzi.
The first revival of Cilea’s tragic opera, Adriana Lecouvreur is brought to the Royal Opera House starring Angela Gheorghiu and Hrachuhi Bassenz.
Our final show of this period, Mixed Ballet: The Human Seasons, After the Rain and New Crystal Pite, is a contemporary ballet celebration brought to the stage by The Royal Ballet and including a world premiere by Crystal Pite and works by Christopher Wheeldon and David Dawson.
