The King’s Head Theatre, which was founded by Dan Crawford is not a West-End venue, but it is the 2nd oldest pub theatre in the UK which is still operational. Adam Spreadbury-Maher was appointed as Artistic Director in 2010 and OperaUpClose took up residence at the theatre.

It has now been announced that James Seabright, former student at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, and student of Social & Political Sciences, graduating with an MA, has taken the position of new chair of the fringe venue, King’s Head Theatre at 115 Upper Street, London, N1 1QN.

James Seabright has been responsible for a number of touring productions, touring mainly, but not limited solely to, the UK. He has produced two seasons of Potted Potter for off-Broadway stages amongs others and his 1st West End production was in 2004.  He has had 3 Olivier Award nominations for his productions in the West End.

Seabright is regularly involved with the Edinburgh Fringe and takes several acts to Scotland each year; and he is also a published book author, with his book “So You Want To Be A Theatre Producer” which was published by Nick Hern Books in 2010.

Credits include Showstopper! The Improvised Musical; The Three Musketeers; Potted Panto; Shakespeare Untold.

This will not be Seabrights first connection with the King’s Head Theatre.  The first co-production with the theatre was the transfer of the theatre’s Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh to The Vaults and a tour which will take place in 2017.
