Review – Nice Fish

Nov 29, 2016

The Stage has a review this week on Mark Rylance in Nice Fish at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London. Read their full review here.

Their headline comment was “exhilaratingly odd” – I’m not sure what this means, but let’s have a look at what else they said.

Mark Rylance is now a film star as well as a stage star. He won an Oscar for his part in Bridge of Spies – which was an excellent film in our opinion and his Oscar was well-deserved. He has more recently starred in The BFG.

On stage, Rylance is one of those actors that will draw an audience, whatever the play or production. Nice Fish is a new comedy written by Mark Rylance and Louis Jenkins and is based around two fishermen on a frozen lake in Minnesota. during the fishing trip the ordinary and the extraordinary collide.

The cast that has performed this play in New York has transferred to  perform on the London stage.  The special effects include a stage covered in a sheet of ice, but the visuals at this theatre have some restricted viewing.

We do currently have tickets on sale for Nice Fish, with a starting price at the time of writing of  £38.00.
