A rare chance to see two internationally acclaimed dance artists. Kathak dancer Aditi Mangaldas, and bharatanatyam soloist Mavin Khoo who performs with vocalist OS Arun, plus one of India’s most distinctive sitarist of her generation Shahana Banerjee with Surpreet Deshpande on tabla.
International Bharata Natyam soloist Mavin Khoo presents a newly devised solo that delves into a journey merging the exploration of Shringara (love) through emotive eroticism with a spiritual offering of Self. Khoo has created a niche as one of few male soloist who reinterpret the female protagonist's voice within a contemporary sensibility. Focusing on the secular aspect of the repertoire, the evening is part of an ongoing collaboration with vocalist OS Arun, creating an original structure for the evening, challenging the relationship between music and dance.
