Idomeneo

Mozart's Idomeneo returns to The Royal Opera for the first time in over twenty years. This sublime music and gripping drama is directed by Austrian theatre and opera director Martin Kusej, who makes his UK debut. Kusej is renowned for his thought provoking approach to opera classics: in Idomeneo he explores themes of personal responsibility , the horror of war and the meaning of sacrifice. Marc Minkowski, one of the most exciting conductors working today, also makes his Royal Opera debut.
