Lunchtime With Clive Owen and Adrien Niyonshuti

British film star and acclaimed stage actor Clive Owen talks to the first ever Rwandan mountain biker to qualify for the Olympic Games, Adrien Niyonshuti. Who is Adrien Niyonshuti? Adrien is Team Rwanda's first rider to qualify for the Olympics. Adrien is also the first Rwandan to qualify in mountain biking for the Olympics. He will be representing his country in 2012 in London. During the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, Adrien lost six of his brothers. Adrien is a strong rider with great endurance. He received his first bike from his Uncle Emmanuel. His first race was the Tour of Rwanda where he finished 6th. Adrien finished 2nd in the Tour of Rwanda in 2006 and 2007. In 2008, he was offered a pro contract to race with MTN Energade, now MTN Qhubeka and is still racing for MTN. In February 2011, he placed 4th in the Mountain Bike Continental Championships in Stellenbosch, South Africa securing a spot in the 2012 Olympics and in March 2011 his partner and Adrien won Best African at the 2011 Cape Epic in South Africa. Leading up to the 2012 London Games Adrien has placed 3rd in the African Continental Championships this spring in Mauritius and is currently training with former World Cup Champion, Thomas Frischknecht in Switzerland. Who is Clive Owen? Clive Owen is an English actor, who has worked on television, stage and film. He first gained recognition in the United Kingdom for portraying the lead in the ITV series Chancer from 1990 to 1991. He then garnered critical acclaim for his work in the film Close My Eyes (1991) before getting international notice for his performance as a struggling writer in Croupier (1998). In 2005, Owen won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his appearance in the drama Closer (2004). He has since played leading roles in films such as Sin City (2005), Inside Man (2006), Children of Men (2006), and The International (2009).
