The Royal Shakespeare Company returns to the Barbican this autumn with a contemporary London Season comprising three of the playwright’s most loved titles: Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Polly Findlay directs Christopher Eccleston in his RSC debut as Macbeth, with Niamh Cusack re-joining the Company as Lady Macbeth in a thrillingly dark production.
Returning home from battle, the victorious Macbeth meets three witches on the heath. Driven by their disturbing prophecies, he sets out on the path to murder.
Polly Findlay’s contemporary production of Shakespeare’s darkest psychological thriller marks Christopher Eccleston’s RSC debut as Macbeth and the return of Niamh Cusack to the Company as Lady Macbeth.
Please note: Christopher Eccleston will not play Macbeth on 18th October at 1.30pm. The role of Macbeth at this performance will be played by Paul Dodds.
