Loudon Wainwright III will perform, one night only, at the London Palladium with special guest Chaim Tannenbaum.

Loudon Wainwright III first claim to fame was the success of “Dead Skunk” in 1972.  After dropping out of his acting study at Canegie-Mellon University he joined the “Summer of Love” in SF and began his music-writing career with his first song “Edgar” in 1968.

Nesuhi Ertegun noticed Loudon and signed him to Atlantic Records before moving to Columbia Records, which is where he was when “Dead Skunk” was released and got his musical career well underway.  Mega stars such as Bonnie Raitt, and Johnny Cash are among recording artists who have recorded his music. 40 Odd Years was a 5-disc set to celebrate his music and was released in 2011.

He has additionally written music with other songwriters, producing music for the movie Knocked Up, stage adaptation of Lucky You.

In 2010 his album High Wide & Handsome won a GRAMMY award for the Best Traditional Folk Album. This album was also judged the best album of 2009 by NPRs Ken Tucker.

Loudon Wainwright has been touring for a long time, and his performance at the London Palladium is for one night only on Friday 21st October 2016.  Tickets are now on sale for this event.
