Rodelinda, one of Handel’s best operas, comes to the stage at the London Coliseum for a short run between 26th October and 15th November 2017.  This is a tale of power, anguish and love. The power play that Rolelinda is caught in could break a marriage and steal a throne – can Rodelinda stay true to love?

Grimoaldo takes Bertarido’s throne and Bertarido goes abroad, but leaves his grieving wife, Rodelinda, behind. Gromoaldo, the usurper, tries to force the grieving Rodelinda to love him, but the exiled king returns and everyone is tested.  The drama is portrayed by beautiful music and director Richard Jones brings his imagination to this drama set in Fascist Italy.

The cast is led by Rebecca Evans, who also played this title role in 2014 when it received “perfection” reviews, and she is joined by Susan Bickley and conductor Christian Curnyn. The UK’s Tim Mead, a very fine countertenor, performs as Bertarido.

Rolelinda tickets are now on sale, with a starting price from just £26.00.
