Sister Act Live Choir returns with the celebratory and immersive screening of the musical comedy classic ‘Sister Act’. Sing-a-long with fellow fans as the film is played on a huge screen accompanied by the Uplifted Voices gospel choir of over 30 singers and band performing hit songs from the film soundtrack live including ‘I will follow Him’ and ‘My God’. The location of the former Methodist church building of Central Hall Westminster is one of the most spectacular and historic venues in London.
I guess most of us know the outline of the story of this very funny film, with Deloris Van Cartier – played so successfully and brilliantly by the amazing Whoopi Goldberg – witnessing a murder and then entering the witness protection programme. Disguised as a nun, she “hides” in a convent and hysterically tries to adopt her new lifestyle. Eventually her voice and the choir becomes her salvation!
The show also includes a special guest performance from MOBO Award Nominee and BBC Gospel Prom featured act ‘Volney Morgan and New-Ye’ and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist ‘Gospel Singers Icognito’ (GSI).
